We have been making clients’ visions real since 1994. We began in print design and publishing, and gravitated to digital media in its very early days. We became one of the first cross-media agencies to leverage digital publishing and production techniques, helping scores of clients tell their stories in the most compelling way possible. Having witnessed the evolution of digital media firsthand gives us an added edge — we can see solutions that escape others.
Our Story
Likvid Design began in 1994 in Kolkata, India, as a visual media practice specializing in 3D animation, compositing, game animation services and web design. We delivered bespoke motion graphics, show packaging and visual effects for some of eastern India’s premier production houses and broadcasters. Prior to launching Likvid Design, Arka had worked as a studio designer, system integrator and trainer for Adobe and Silicon Graphics systems across southeast Asia, and had designed and taught pioneering 3D animation and print publishing courses in eastern India, training several generations of animators and digital artists.
Jhumur’s journey began in fine and commercial art, and progressed through print and web design and multimedia production. Her work for early web portals and digital media laid the foundation for a career in digital design and user experience with some of the best studios and consultancies in Kolkata including PriceWaterhoursCoopers. As Likvid’s business grew she joined full time as the lead designer and earned high praise from a wide range of clients.
Jhumur and Arka moved to the US in August 1999 having tied the knot three months prior. Arka went on to a career in IT, broadcast media, education and public television while Jhumur designed and edited for a variety of clients, from large corporations to small broadcast channels. Likvid LLC was incorporated in 2011, and began serving small and medium businesses with web development and technology services.
Today our services span web design and development, digital publishing and global distribution, media services and technology consulting. Our clients trust us to deliver their vision to their audiences in the clearest, most persuasive manner. We are blessed to be working with a partner network of high-caliber professionals, collaborating on projects ranging from websites, art installations, broadcast and streaming media to ebooks. Arka has been involved in both print and digital media production since the early days of desktop publishing. A multiple-Emmy nominated designer, animator, web developer and branding expert with over 24 years of experience, he has consulted and developed web presences and print collateral for a wide range of organizations including Fortune 500 companies, non-profit and charitable organizations, and small and medium businesses.
Jhumur Chaudhuri
UX Lead + Senior Designer
Jhumur has crafted interactive, e-learning, print, web and multimedia design for over 24 years for small and medium business, non-profits, federal and Big 5 consulting firms. She specializes in concept-to-completion design and branding projects, with an emphasis on environmentally sustainable design and production techniques. Her ability to gain a holistic understanding of the clients’ vision and business goals sets her apart.
